Goldfish are suspension filter-feeders that are capable of capturing particles much smaller than the spaces between their gill rakers, a phenomenon I am investigating by looking at how particle density affects food retention.
his Fellowship is important to my research because it allows me to spend a lot more valuable time in the lab working on methods and data collection.

Future Plans: I plan to pursue a PhD in Biology and go into research in the fields of Ecology and Evolution.
Hobbies: Reading Gothic literature, photography, aquarium keeping, and appreciating British humor.
Fun Fact: I’ve been a vegetarian for over 5 years.
