The focus of my project is to study the relationship between the structure of rhodamine derived dye compounds and the pH they detect. By better understanding this relationship we can develop specific pH probes that respond in the acidic range of 4.5 to 6, a range which is important in several biological processes.
Hometown: Richmond, Virginia
Hobbies: Writing, reading, volunteering at Colonial Williamsburg, horse-back riding, playing the piano
Fun Fact: I have always loved to write but would consistently misspell words on spelling tests. When I was really young, I would spell everything with letters from the very end of the alphabet.
